Athanasios Doupas received his Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace. His Diploma Thesis was titled “Fuzzy finite state automata and their application in the discipline of Civil Engineering”. In 1999 he begins his cooperation with ILSP / R.C. “Athena” Xanthi branch, initially as a scholar and later as a scientific associate. He participated in the “Odysseus” project as a head of school laboratories and network administrator. He then worked on “HNC”, the Hellenic Nathional Corpus, developing tools for its enrichment, for “EΗNC”, the Digitized Archive of the National Theater etc. At the same time, he was a systems and network administrator of the ILSP branch in Thrace. Since 2008 he has worked in various software as a service companies for the tourism sector. He developed booking engines and back-office management systems for hotels, airline tickets, ferries, car rentals, etc. Ηe also developed interfaces with systems of third-party providers and banks. For this purpose, he used and developed web services, relational databases, RESTFul APIs, Docker containers. Has received the certifications required by the Payment Card Industry for software development and management with access to credit card information. He has worked on Amazon’s Cloud platform, AWS while he has some experience with the corresponding Microsoft platform, Azure. Since 2021 he is again collaborating with the ILSP / R.C. “Athena” as a scientific associate on the “Mythological Itineraries in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace” project. He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
