As is customary, ATHENA RC's exhibits drew considerable attention from visitors, affording them the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the Center's scientific collaborators and delve into their work. This year's event featured a range of speeches and workshops held in the Pavilion's Event Space, covering diverse topics spanning from Generative AI to reducing carbon footprints, as well as delving into Technology Transfer and entrepreneurial endeavors.
Visitors to the 87th TIF, including the general public, educators, institutional partners, and corporate executives, were treated to an entertaining and interactive exploration of ATHENA's initiatives and programs. Over 1,000 visitors engaged in the PSLIFESTYLE test, allowing them to calculate their carbon footprint and discover ways to reduce it. One particularly noteworthy innovation was FRESQO, a product facilitating the automatic detection of fish freshness, with potential applications extending to other marketable, non-fish products. Hundreds of attendees explored Mythotopia, a tourist guide for Northern Greece, and encountered the innovative APTOS system featuring smart replicas of exhibits, such as the 3D-printed temple of Achiropoiitos of Thessaloniki, accompanied by audio presentations for the visually impaired.
Furthermore, the audience was introduced to the AI4EDU system, which leverages CHAT GPT in Greek for educational purposes, transforming school education through innovation. ATHENA Research Center's pioneering work in developing fairer Artificial Intelligence algorithms (Autofair) was also showcased, alongside its study, design, and experimental evaluation of "green" innovative methods in cloud computing (ARCADIA).
