Data for social good: Final Event

20-07-2023

The "Data for Social Good" project has come to a conclusion, and shared the positive results of the excellent closing event held in Archimedes's Amphitheatre. This event was honored by the participation of the project teams and delegates from the HCAP-company partners, including EYDAP, DEH, AEDIK, and OASA. The occasion provided an opportunity to highlight the achievements of the teams formed by PhD candidates, MSc grads, and undergraduates, which were motivated by the same goal: using data for the social good.

Five innovative technologies were introduced:
  1. EurekaPower (in collaboration with DEH) - This tool revolutionizes electricity consumption prediction for households, enabling informed decisions, participation in discount policies, and general energy savings for users.
  2. HydroForecast (in collaboration with EYDAP) - Utilizing cutting-edge machine learning algorithms, this tool analyzes time-series data from water consumption meters in schools, offering valuable insights and predictions for optimal water usage and early maintenance.
  3. RideInsight (in collaboration with OASA) - Providing citizens with real-time information on bus occupancy and route-related details, RideInsight enhances the commuting experience.
  4. CustomerSuccess (in collaboration with OASA) - This smart citizen and passenger service system effectively addresses and analyzes client complaints, prioritizing customer experience.
  5. MarinerMuse (in collaboration with AEDIK) - An intelligent pricing and scheduling management application for the Corinth Canal, MarinerMuse optimizes maritime activities.

The success of these projects would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of the exceptional teams and the unwavering support of the company partners.
