We are excited to announce that the Sustainable Development Unit (SDU) at Athena Research Center has been selected as one of the EU Climate Pact Partners! Among 417 outstanding applications, SDU proudly stands among the top 31 chosen partners.

As an EU Climate Pact Partner, we now have a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in advancing climate action efforts across the EU.

The European Climate Pact encourages everyone to act. It is a movement of people united around a common cause, each taking steps in their own worlds to build a more sustainable Europe for us all. Launched by the European Commission, the Pact is part of the European Green Deal and is helping the EU to meet its goal to be the first climate-neutral continent in the world by 2050.

About SDU: Pioneering Sustainable Development

The Sustainable Development Unit (SDU) is scientifically directed by Prof. Phoebe Koundouri. SDU engages in cutting-edge research to enable the transition to resilience and sustainability, through the implementation of UN Agenda 2030 (17 SDGs), the Paris Agreement, and the European Green Deal. The Unit focuses on interdisciplinary systems research and the delivery of innovative solutions for the transition to a green, digital, job-based, and fair future. The work of our interdisciplinary team centers on the inter-dependencies between research and innovation, the economy, society, the environment, policy-making, and politics.
