Professor Timos Sellis wins the prestigious IEEE TCDE Impact Award

Professor Timos Sellis, the founder and first Director of the Information Management Systems Institute was honoured with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Technical Committee of Data Engineering Impact Award (IEEE TCDE Impact Award) for his more than 30-year contribution to database systems research and for broadening the reach of data engineering research.
The IEEE TCDE Impact Award recognises database researchers from around the world who have made an impact beyond the data engineering field or shown impact beyond research to industrial practice and have contributed to expanding the data engineering field. Professor Timos Selis, an expert in the fields of Big Data, Database Systems, Spatio-temporal Database Systems, Data Warehouses, Data Streams, etc- is an IEEE fellow and currently holds the position of the Director of Swinburne Data Science Research Institute in Australia.
