The Digital Landscape is "in the air"

Digital Work in the Humanities

03-10-2022

The website https://digital-landscape.gr of "The emerging landscape of digital work in the Humanities within the framework of the European DARIAH and CLARIN infrastructures" is now "in the air". The project is coordinated by "Athena" RC and constitutes an emblematic action of H.F.R.I -Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation.

The "Digital Landscape" project aims to map digital work practices and the impact of the pandemic on the way we work in the Humanities and Social Sciences in Greece, in order to better understand current trends and needs and plan effectively for the future.

For this purpose, we have designed special questionnaire which is available through the website; meanwhile we are planning targeted focus groups for the collection of qualitative data. In addition, the project intends to contribute to the systematization and standardization of digital work practices in the Humanities, by expanding and developing relevant knowledge bases and ontologies, and to promote the use of standards and metadata schemas.

The "Digital Landscape" deploys and supports the functions of the APOLLONIS infrastructure and its components, DARIAH-GR and CLARIN:EL, and lays the groundwork for planning the post-Covid era, by identifying and analyzing current as well as emerging needs and research trends in Digital Humanities in Greece. This procedure ensures continuous and seamless access to digital services and resources provided by the APOLLONIS Infrastructure and connection of the national research infrastructures with the corresponding European ones, CLARIN and DARIAH, for the benefit of research communities in Greece and Europe.
