"Athena" RC is pleased to announce its participation in the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) Network. Staying loyal to its vision of cutting-edge research in Information and Communication Technologies, in recent years, it has been providing solutions to international challenges and producing research results with considerable social impact. Through its participation in three innovation hubs, it will substantially contribute to digital literacy by developing cutting-edge technologies for the health sector, providing artificial intelligence solutions in 3 key thematic areas (Energy and Environment, Supply Chain and Mobility & Culture and Tourism) and offering innovative services for the benefit of public administration and, by extension, οf all citizens.

Greece will participate in the Network of European Digital Innovation Hubs with a total of 7 Nodes, four of which will be financed by the European Commission through “Digital Europe Program – DEP 2021-2027”, with a total amount of 9.3 million euros for three years, while three more Nodes will participate in the Network without European funding, as they received the seal of excellence of the EU.

“Athena” RC has been actively involved in recent years in research activities around the processing and analysis of life sciences data, such as biology and medicine. The launch of Smart HEALTH, European Digital Innovation Hub, constitutes a breakthrough in the field of health services. The hub focuses on the fields of precision medicine and e-health, and will provide enterprises access to technical expertise around digital technologies as well as the possibility of “trial before investment” so as to improve their manufacturing processes, services and products.

GR digiGOV-innoHUB (The Greek digital Government and Public Services innovation HUB)

The aim of the hub is the international interconnection and exploitation of the global potential of Technology and modern Open Government, through the development of a new generation of innovative services to citizens and enterprises in Public Administration based on advanced digital technologies. The hub will act as a GOVtech virtual lab that can accelerate the development of innovative and cost-effective digital solutions through flexible and effective "borderless" partnerships between the public and private sectors, civil society and academia.

SmartAttica-AtHeNAI (Smart Attica DIH, the Attica region – Greek Innovation hub for Artificial Intelligence in Energy and Environment, Supply chain and mobility, Culture and Tourism

The aim of the hub is to cope with the digitization challenges facing the country by concretizing and implementing the Smart Region concept for Attica, based on the elements of the Smart City approach. SmartAttica-AtHeNAI seeks to establish the processes and technologies for the integration of Digital Intelligence in industrial, administrative and everyday operations. It will provide state-of-the-art solutions in Artificial Intelligence and accelerate the digital transformation in all industrial sectors in Greece, as well as the ecological transformation of organizations and regions.
